This is similar to the view that I saw as our airplane was landing....yep, it's pretty much a desert out here. Lots of sand and lots of bushes!!

I made it!!

Well, after approximately 23 hours of traveling, I finally arrived in Africa!! We have now been here for exactly a week and things are going great! No culture shock yet!

So far we have had many various cultural experiences. We have eaten with our hands, attended a baby naming ceremony and experienced lots of African driving!! We've been to markets and other stores and taken taxis. Things have been amazing so far and I am excited about beginning language study on Monday. Please be thinking of us as we begin three weeks of French and then move on to our local language.
